CIPA - Children's Internet Protection Act

CIPA Information

The Children's Internet Protection Act, also known as CIPA, is a bill that was passed in an attempt to limit children's exposure to pornography and other inappropriate material on the Internet.  CIPA requires schools and libraries to operate, "a technology protection measure with respect to any of its computers with Internet access that protects against access through such computers to visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, or harmful to minors," and that such a technology protection measure be employed, "during any use of such computers by minors."

A public meeting was held on Monday, August 18, 2014 to discuss the district's compliance with CIPA as well as its acceptable use policy for students.
